Our Ethos
Who are we?
For as long as I can remember I've always been drawn to flowers, foliage and wild meadows. I used to ask my dad not to cut some of the grass in the garden so I could have my own mini meadow to sit in amongst the flowers. I feel most relaxed and at home when I'm surrounded by nature, and cake, which is why I love bringing these aspects together to create the cakes that I make.
I am environmental conscious & try to source all my products as naturally & local as possible - less of an impact on the environment. I am very influenced by nature; plants and animals as well as listening to my soul and following the vibes that influence my creativity. I am working towards growing as much of my own foliage as possible. To use for both dried and fresh flowers. I would love, and have always loved the idea of, growing fruit for the cakes as well. fresh picked raspberries for that raspberry jam! YUM!!
We provide a variety of products ranging from wedding cakes, occasion cakes, baked goods (one example: our fabulous vegan cinnamon rolls), cake hearts & cakesicles. We are happy to accommodate to dietary requirements (Vegan, Dairy free & Gluten Free) We understand & appreciate how challenging a dietary requirement can be & want to help make your special day as perfect as possible.
We are very happy to work with you to help create your dream cake, dessert table, wedding favours that suit your personality, theme & style it is your big day! We have plenty of options & different medium for you to use. Cake ‘Gaps’ creating height, bringing character & style without the extra cake.
Our Style
Yes our style is boho, rustic, & influenced by nature. The vibes sing to our soul & I find that when all the vibes are in line the cakes turn out beautifully & naturally. Listen to your gut instincts they already know & will help you create a beautiful wedding day & life.
We are happy to use any medium, (buttercream, chocolate ganache & fondant) to help create your dream cake. A lot of our cakes have Sugar flowers, dried & fresh flowers, which we believe helps create beautiful, unique & bohemian cakes.
We are able to work with a lot of different mediums from: Chocolate ganache, wafer paper, rice paper, fondant, and buttercream.
I love using different media on one cake, to create different textures that compliment each other and give the cake its character. Its unique character. See the cake: wafer paper fans, wafer paper lace, painting, rice paper, sugar flowers & handmade mushrooms.
This also goes for the use of mixing dried and fresh flowers as well as dried grasses (wheat, pampas grass) and feathers.
Botanical Cakes
Overall Botanical cakes ethos is based on its love of the natural world and we strive to have less of an impact on the world which is why we are working to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
Yes our vibes and soul lives and stems from the bohemian & botanical world we understand that not everyones does. So please don't feel like we can't help you out -- there is a lot of colour, textures and character to the cakes the Botanical cakes creates.
Everyone has there own style and character and I very much believe that that should be portrayed through your cake. It is your day.
